Our client a rapidly growing designer and manufacturer of flight critical products is looking to add an Assistant Controller to their F&A team. This role is a Temp-to-Hire. The company offers a very competitive compensation & benefits package and a business culture, which rewards performance.
Previous cost accounting experience is required.
Role Summary:
This position is a lead accountant in support of the Controller specifically delivering on monthly performance targets and successful execution of standard monthly accounting procedures and ensure that all required financial statements and reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner according to corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable regulations and laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation process including preparation and approval of journal entries.

Support development of annual operating plans and forecasts through inventory, accounts payable, and capex analysis.

Provide accurate and timely asset capitalization and retirement for the location.

Provide analytical support to non-financial departments to evaluate capital expenditure projects.

Provide analytical support to non-financial departments to evaluate capital expenditure projects.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and development of best practices.

Coordinate and provide support for financial and control audits. Support development of tools/reports to facilitate financial and operational improvements.

Lead inventory, accounts payable, and capex analysis, guide operational action, and deliver on forecast targets.

Support an environment where systems are used to accurately plan, forecast, and deliver according to expectations.

Daily cash management.

Filing of various tax documents including property, sales tax, and 1099s

Supervise accounting staff.
Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance or Accounting.

Formal training and in-depth experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, local, state, and federal tax regulations, and financial analysis & reporting.

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
