I have a great opportunity for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to work for a company at a new modern facility. Although jet experience is preferred, will consider commercial airline experience. Relocation expenses will also be considered for experienced candidates. The position is located in the Gary Chicago International Airport in Gary, Indiana.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) will perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for a Part 135 Air Carrier on a diverse fleet comprised of corporate jet turbine powered aircraft.
Responsibilities

  • Complete and inspect work to ensure that maintenance meets company and industry standards.
  • Maintain or repair of some or all of the following; aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft components and avionics systems according to Coleman Jet and FAA specifications.
  • Perform inspections during assembly of part and after repair or installation of component.
  • Documenting maintenance procedures to include; component damage, component origin, and condition of component, components or equipment.
  • Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Conduct routine and special inspections as required by Title 14 CFR Regulations.
  • Read and correctly interpret maintenance manuals, FAA/manufacturer publications, and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Maintain repair logs documenting all aircraft maintenance performed.
  • Maintain calibrated tools program and ground support equipment.
  • Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of discrepancies and diagnose problems.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural components and accessories.
  • Independently accomplish job responsibilities within short deadlines.
  • Inventory and order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Responsible for reporting aircraft status, maintenance expenses, and other activities to management.
  • Schedule and oversee aircraft detailing Contact vendors and contractors to help create a vendor audit log.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
  • Should possess the basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems.
  • Certain duties may require working in confined spaces for a periodic time. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts. Candidates will be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screen.
  • Be authorized to work in the US.
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • 2-4 years’ previous experience performing maintenance on Turbine Powered Private/Corporate Jets is desired.
  • Gulfstream, Beechjet, Hawker, Citation, or Challenger Initial Maintenance Training preferred.
  • Able to work in high paced conditions and at remote locations with little supervision
  • Strong computer skills are required (Word, Excel, CAMP, CMP, AVTRAK, CESCOM, Total FBO, Corridor, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree through a technical/vocational school is preferred.
