Accounting Manager – San Ramon, CA
Our client, a leading manufacturer of consumer products is expanding their operation and looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their Accounting Team. This is a high visibility role with a very competitive compensation and benefits package and potential for growth. This role will sit in San Ramon, CA.
POSITION PURPOSE:This is a responsible managerial position that involves assisting with administering department policies, programs and practices; including ensuring the integrity of accounting information by researching, verifying, consolidating, planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing. The Accounting Manager ensures timely and accurate financials and oversees A/R, A/P staff & accountants and reports to the Controller.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Review Per Diem Invoices, and all equipment related transactions.
· Work with the Controller to provide timely, relevant financial statements.
· Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
· Instrumental in driving the month-end process. Provide support, guidance, and feed-back to Operations Managers and Accounting staff to ensure that semi-monthly and month-end reports are submitted to the corporate office in a timely manner.

Perform detailed review of monthly general ledger and financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP.

Working with the Controller to analyze financial info and develop understanding of business units key performance indicators to ensure the questions/trend variances are addressed prior to publishing financials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUES:
Monitor that the accounts payable and accounts receivable process at the business unit and corporate levels are on track throughout the month and that month-end deadlines are met.
Review A/P invoices to ensure validity of invoices and adherence to internal procedures/protocols.

Monitor A/R billings at facility level and review A/R Aging/DSO Reports.

Cash flow management.
· Preparation of budgets.

Monitor/review reconciliation of Balance Sheet general ledger accounts. Monitor general ledger activity.

Maintain/supervise detailed schedules of debt/leases.

Supervise, train, provide guidance, and mentor the Accounting staff as needed.

Evaluate internal controls for weaknesses and opportunities to improve the process and propose corrective action to VP Executive/CFO.

Review vendor/customer contracts as needed.

Work closely with banks, auditors and outside CPA for year-end close.

Arrange for audits of company’s accounts.

Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.

Delegate special projects as needed.

Manage the Accounting and Collections departments

Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets view and sign off on G/L “RECS” (Balance sheet worksheets) monthly & maintain current monthly.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES:

Strong understanding of accounting theory

5-10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Financial, or Business Administration preferred.
